Introduction

Communication in nursing implies the ability to communicate and get connected with the patients and health care professionals. It helps in the development of effective relationships, prevention of mistakes and providing higher level of care. Present report is also based on the analysis of requirements of active listening, questioning skills and body language which is required in health and social care service organisation. There are various benefits of these skills for nurses that have been discussed in this report.

Theory in Relation to Active Listening Skills

Listening skills are the most important part of communication, related with effective analysis of situation and information through hearing. According to Brownell, (2015), For getting a complete analysis of situations and getting information it is important for individual in health and social care organisation to have these skills. Those who persons read well they are also good listeners, so they do not have more practices improving their listening skills. Person who active and smart are already good in listening skills. Today active listening skill is very necessary for all in fast -paced society but peoples do not have time to focus on it.

For providing supports to users in health and social care along with the making coordination with the professionals, it is essential for nurses to have active listening so that they can analyse the situations correctly. Active listener is also analysed as professionals qualification of every individual which aids them in getting effective knowledge and experience from their supervisors to resolve problems. These skills can be achieved by nurses through training and attending various seminars on nursing and getting feedbacks of supervisors at workplace (Cotton D. and et.al. (2012).

Moreover, A nurse or a health care employee should have the active listening skills that will help him/her to have the better understanding of the problems and the issues that are been faced by the organisation’s clients and customers. The nurses will look after the better listening of the patient’s health care issues and will adopt the suitable health care measure that will help in effective eradication of the diseases. Besides this, the listening or the communication approach will help in developing the better relationship between the nursing care employee and the patient at the health care home.

Some good ideas can also be achieved how to communicate with other and how to listen everyone. So listening skill is very important for individuals (Cotton and et.al, 2012). They should always to try speak carefully as well as listen. Listening other to help to give the solutions of every problems, developing patience and giving a new opportunity. The process of listening skill is receiving, understanding, recollecting, evaluating and responding. Receiving is the basic process of listening skills it is related with receiving some information and observing that information. The key stages of these process removing the distraction and don't interrupt the speakers.

Theory in relation to Questioning Skills

Questioning skills are considered as the most important part of nursing. As per Chan, (2013), nurses in care home need to have effective questioning skills so that they will be able to gain information from the patients about their problems. There are various questioning skills that have been approved by clinical instructors during the clinical field experience. According to Silverman, Kurtz and Draper, (2016), open ended questioning must be asked from the patients so that they can clearly understand what the professionals are saying to them. Sometimes, close ended questions are not relevant to be asked from the patients because when they are not conscious, they will not provide correct information.

According to Chan, (2013), nurses in the health and social care organization must have experience of clinical practice in their respective field such as psychology. It helps in getting previous medical history from different type patient. In some situations, nurses have to face aggressive behaviour of patients and required to control them for getting medical information. Effective questioning skill enables the nurses to get support of patients in treatment. It helps them in communicating with professional and their opinion about ways to handle the patients in serious conditions.

According to Moss, (2017), questioning skill enables the professionals to provide effective services to users and help to recover them from serious mental and physical health problems.
