Technology
In construction industry, various technological tools are used. It helps in constructing building in effective way. Similarly, in masonry wall also rat trap bond technology is used. In this bricks are placed in such a way between two faces of wall (Husain and et.al., 2017). This system makes it easy to fill walls with RCC. Also, with help of hypsometer wall measurement is done. Then, deviations are identified and improvements is done. therefore, with help of technology cavity walls are constructed.

Evaluation
Masonry wall is evaluated on basis of many things or criteria. However, walls are foundation on basis of which construction is done.
The performance requirement identified in masonry wall is. First is durability which refers to time period of wall till its deterioration. This also the need for undue maintenance. Then, strength is determined on basis of its failure in case of high loads. Moreover, it contains durability of wall as well. The stability can have low probability of instability in case of high loads through its life. Also, other requirements are some other factors as well taken into consideration. It includes water penetration, etc.
So, among them the strength and durability are crucial one. It directly shows the overall performance of masonry wall. With help of them, it is easy to distinguish and compare walls quality and performance. Another requirement is thermal transmittance. By this it becomes easy to evaluate wall. (Iwaro and Mwasha, 2019). Thus, these all are effective criteria or requirements to analyse performance of wall. The stability does not help in evaluating performance of wall. It only shows how much stable wall is.
Improved technology
Technology plays vital role in construction and masonry walls. in order to improve the use of technology, energy efficient system and software can be installed. It will help in controlling moisture or heat in wall in maintaining its temperature. the system will monitor data recording of energy used and heat generated. So, in system or software default temperature can be inserted. The advance window and door system will make it easy to save energy.
Additionally, energy efficient brick technology can also be used in this. It will enable in using low carbon construction material in building. terrestrial laser scanning can also be used in masonry wall. It will support in defining structure of wall.
Alongside, 3 D technology can be used as well to provide a clear view of design and structure of masonry wall (Suchocki and Katzer, 2018). With this it will be easy to identify structure and make changes in walls. also, technology will help in finding out use of materials in wall.
Functional and performance requirement
In construction there are different requirements of building. It depends on type and size of project. The main function of wall is to divide space. It also helps in providing strength to structure. The functional requirement of masonry cavity wall is as –
Strength – this is basic requirement in which strength is determined by materials that are used. The wall must be strengthened enough to hold structure (Ma and et.al., 2019).
Stability – it highly depends on foundation, temperature, moisture, etc. wall must be stable enough to stand against wind, earthquake, etc.
Weather resistance- the walls must be able to hold and protect weather such as heat, wind, rain, etc.
Durability – they must be durable enough for long time. masonry walls must consist of thermal properties.
Sound and heat resistance – they must be sound and heat resistance. It means good insulator of both heat and sound.
Performance requirement are :-
It is necessary to measure performance of masonry cavity wall so that its features are identified. This enables in determining quality of wall and materials used. Along with functional there are certain performance requirement as well.
Durability – it refers to time period of wall till its deterioration. This also the need for undue maintenance (Buratti and et.al., 2018)
Strength – the masonry wall strength is determined on basis of its failure in case of high loads. Moreover, it contains durability of wall as well.
Stability – A masonry wall can have low probability of instability in case of high loads through out its life.
Other requirements – In this criterion there are some other factors as well taken into consideration. It includes water penetration, etc.
How sustainability is maintained
Masonry cavity wall are walls constructed between two walls to provide some space between them. The walls are made of brick, block and stone. So, it contains thermal mass inside it which help in controlling building temperature. This can be analysed that in summer masonry cavity wall store heat energy (Sustainability in masonry wall, 2016). Then, at night walls releases that heat and make the temperature of building cooler. In this way building temperature is maintained. Thermal mass is more effective as it is a good insulator of heat. Thus, there is no need of extra energy for consumption (Bothara Dizhur and Ingham, 2018). Thus, the masonry element helps in fulfilling the heating and cooling needs of a building. It helps in using less energy and saving it.
Moreover, in order to remain cool, the building does not need to install A/C’s, through these walls only cooling is maintained. Similarly, when there is excess cold the masonry walls control temperature by moderate temperature. Therefore, more use of masonry walls results in energy efficient buildings. the surrounding environment also becomes moderate.
