Module 1
Reflective statement portrays the learning process and experiences that the researcher has gained through conducting the investigation (Knott and Scragg, 2016).
Application of theoretical concepts to the case
According to the case study provided, I studied that till the end of the year, Ford, Holden, Mitsubishi, Toyota were assembled their automotive components overseas because of less cost of production. It will arise difficulty for the Australian automotive sector due to a shortage of accessories or car components, which in turn, will result in significant loss of the job and output as well.
There are many reasons that I founded in the case scenario as a reason behind the failure or collapse of the industry such as lack of benefits of economies of scale, too small market, cheaper availability of production inputs at foreign lands such as labor and parts, fewer tariff charges and free trade barriers (Valadkhani and Smyth, 2016).
It will adversely affect the PSTS viability that provides services to the architecture, computer system design, engineering, advertising, market research, consultancy, and many others. the collapse of the automotive sector will have a direct impact on the loss of job of a full-time worker in both the downstream and upstream industries.
Looking to the table, I analyzed that the collapse or failure of the industry will greatly affect the R&D operations. The reason behind this, is car manufacturers conduct training sessions in order to render technical and professional support and guidance to the employees to improve their talent, competencies, and knowledge, thus, no-doubt, industry collapse will bring significant loss in R&D, technological innovations & also affect survival of other industries (Mariuz, 2016).
Conflicts or problems
At the initial stage, it was too challenging for me to in-depth analyze the study because it was too time-consuming process requiring an extreme level of commitment and focus. Thus, a lack of understanding of the concept and poor-time management skills caused difficulties for me in developing an in-depth understanding of the collapse of the industry. Moreover, poor critical thinking and analytical skills arisen problems for me in completing the study.
Applied changes to overcome the conflict
I developed a time-based action plan to overcome the issues and complexities in completing the study. Moreover, prioritizing enable me to complete the work within the given time duration. Apart from this, I also take the assistance of my tutor, family members and friends, and their guidance and supports proven really helpful for me to overcome issues and complete the entire study successfully.
Impact on professional development
The analysis of the theories and concepts through the study strengthen my professional skills in diversified ways. It improved my research skills and critical thinking skills to analyze and examine the collapse of the Australian automotive industry thoroughly. Moreover, it also brings a substantial improvement in my analytical skills and develops self-confidence in myself. In addition to this, devising action plans helped me to ensure the progress of the study and contributed to improving time-management skills to a great extent that provided valuable and precious benefits at a professional level.
