Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, is one of the legislations related to health and safety in health care work setting. It lays down large-ranging duties of workers in health and social care sector. According to this legislation, employers in the workplace protect safety and well-being of their staff members effectively (Alexander and et.al., 2015). They also protect health of applicants in its premises.

Explain the main points of health and safety policies and procedures agreed with the employer
the main points mentioned below-
- Assure health, welfare and safety of all individual at work.
- Cater essential resources to comply with Health & safety at work act.
- Identify any hazard and provide risk measures
- According to health policies and safety procedure, employer maintain healthy and safe working environment or conditions.

Analyse the main health and safety responsibilities of:
– self
– the employer or manager
– others in the work setting
In context of self, I am accountable for taking good care of my patients and my selves as well. I am also responsible for reporting to senior about risks and hazards that I cannot be resolved on time.
In context of manager or employer-
They are highly responsible for reducing any risks in workplace before it affect people life.
In context of nursing staff-
They should provide proper treatment to its patients after analysing their health condition.

Identify specific tasks in the work setting that should not be carried out without special training .
- Moving and handling,
- Administration of medication,
- First aid emergency response
Handling and moving equipment is one of the tasks that will not be possible without training (Bolster and Rourke, 2015). With the help of training, staff will be able to handle all equipments effectively in workplace that provide better services to its patients. It helps to provide in depth information to new and existing staff about significance of handling and moving equipments appropriately.

Describe different types of accidents and sudden illness that may occur in own work setting
Slips, burns, misuse of equipments, choking, trips and falls are the different categories of accidents occur own health and safety care work setting.
Along with this, allergies, bugs, convulsions, asthma, fainting, food poisoning, influenza and cardiac arrest are the types of illness that may also occur while setting health and social care work.
3.2
Explain procedures to be followed if an accident or sudden illness should occur
when sudden illness or accident occur, health and social care workers should inform their senior authority or member of staff by either rising emergency alarm. In this situation, staff find emergency alarm system quickly before wasting time that help to aware people in workplace and prevent from harm or any risk on individual health.

Explain own role in supporting others to follow practices that reduce the spread of infection
my role in supporting and reducing chances of spreading infection abiding by all procedures and policies such as infection control they are in work place for good reason, that keep every one safe and healthy. I encourage, attend and arrange others to take part all in workplace training and complete all courses related to training.

Describe the causes and spread of infection.
Infection is harm caused by micro organism, which is refereed to as germs, micro organism that cause this, are known as bacteria, pathogenic and parasites. Infection disease spread through direct transfer of viruses, germs and other bacteria (Cameron et.al., 2014). All above examples of micro organisms are the cause of infection.

Health and Safety at work Act 974-
- General framework to assure, well being, safety and other things in workplace.
- Define clear roles and accountabilities of employees as well as employer while moving and handling equipments
Lifting operations and equipments regulations 1999-
- lifting task should be performed by workers who are competent and capable.
- Lifting things will be carried out and planned properly in safe and effective manner.

Explain principles for safe moving and handling
Ensure that products is not going to move and too heavy, any handling aids must be use for any things that are awkward, assure that all ways are clear. Prepare area that things is going to effectively without any barriers. There are not fast and hard rules for lifting safely.

Describe types of hazardous substances that may be found in the work setting
Cleaning products such as oven cleaner, bleach and toilet cleaner, medicines, blood, solvents, asbestos, chemical waste, latex, soiled pads, mucus, bedding and clothes are the types of hazards substance that found in work setting.

Describe practices that prevent fires from:
- starting
- spreading
Fire cause injury, damage and death, therefore it is very essential that all people understand about prevention.
Keeping heat and fuel apart from place where food is prepared, keeping workplace tidy and clean, avoid use naked flames unless essential, do not smoke and use fire tools in workplace, do not leave food preparing unattended and do not use portable heaters (Lartey, Cummings and Profetto"McGrath, 2014).
Use fire safety and prevention equipments after spreading fire such as fire blankets and fire extinguisher.
7.3
Explain emergency procedures to be followed in the event of a fire in the work setting
On identifying a fire, employer and other people raise the alarm by shouting fire and then activate closet push glass fire alarm call point or major exist point. People also can use fire extinguisher in order to tackle the situation or fire effectively. Person will evacuation to be calmly and prompt with every one creating way to designated assembly place.

Explain the importance of ensuring that others are aware of own where about
Employer should assure health and safety of all workers and people on workplace to eliminate risks and hazards where every possible. Assuring about awareness of other about risk is very essential as it helps to prevent and save the live of people effectively. It also stated that senior will maintain its safety and that of other individual with whom they perform.

Describe common signs and indicators of stress in self and others.
Some time I face difficulty to remembers something essential that is the indicator of stress which effect my life the most. I cannot be able to concentrate on my work while doing job in health and social care sector.
Constant worrying, anxious thoughts, agitation, moodiness, anger, loneliness and other metal problems are the symptom of stress in other.
9.2
Analyse factors that tend to trigger own stress
There are different types of factors which can affect to employee at workplace which causes affect in negative manner (Di Fabio, 2017). Those factors which are the causes of stress such as increasing financial problem, cultural difference, emotional problem and job insecurity. This creates more problem in ineffective manner by creating more risk of people which is affect to health of people.
9.3
Compare strategies for managing stress in self and others.
There are various strategies which help to manage stress in self and others in effective manner by managing in an effective manner. Those strategies are can avoid stressful situation and try to alter, change the stressor and change yourself, take a break form the stressor, breathing is the fast foundation to de stress and heal, be aware about the yourself unhealthy coping.
9.4
Explain how to access sources of support.
The source of support are speaking with manager, reducing your workload, taking time off to relax and recharge, spending more money and time with friends as well as getting more exercise and meditation.
