Purposes of this project
This unit will analyses the processes required for the management of individuals in the health and social care workplace. It not only covers the recruitment of the most desirable personnel but used to support of employees in performing their work effectively in teams and enhancing their skills and abilities which contribute them in the delivery of a quality service. Learners will deal with those factors to cover legal and policy frameworks. In addition, learners will explore the factors which influences the organizational and management style for the effectiveness of the team.
This unit is particularly suitable for learners who have experience of leadership and management of team work, including involvement in the recruitment of staff.
Case Scenario– St - Margaret's Nursing Home

You have been selected as the Human Resources Officer at St-Margaret's Nursing Home situated in central London. In the formal meeting with the Board of Directors you were told about recent diversification of the nursing home by your HR Director.
Also, required to inform about the associated problems that St Margaret’s Nursing Home have been experiencing, such as the high rate of employee turnover. It also includes issues like complaints from residents and families about the quality of service delivered, and insufficient knowledge of the staff, inadequate supervision that impact the safety and efficiency of care.
The HR Director is concerned to increase staff retention to minimise future training and recruitment costs. She believes that the recent recruitment and selection policies of St-Margaret’s Nursing Home are partly responsible for the employment turnover.
The HR Director also recommend that care staff's performance, their efforts and quality of work. Ineffective communication is the main reason behind the lack of satisfaction among the are workers.
You are required to ensure that the recruitment planning and selection approaches are used effectively and that the relevant legislative and policy framework of the home country are enforced during this process; and produce a detailed and suitable Performance Evaluation Plan for all of the employees working in an organisation; prepare suggestions on the types of training nursing staff to consider their current level of competence and future development requirements. And evaluate how training helps the employees to acquire the knowledge and skills to enable them use the core standards set by the Care Quality Commission.
As told by the manager to conduct a training session for the care staff in order to develop the methods and leadership skills that you have used and applied over the period of time in supervising and guiding people at the workplace. Your training session required to impart them about the application of different leadership theories in managing and supervising the activities between the subordinates and team workers.
